Below are the *live* photos from today’s game from the Kit Kat Crescent. Click a photo to see it closer.

While it is, of course, still to early for “must-win” games, starting the season with consecutive defeats is almost unthinkable tonight – God knows what the moaners around NP would do with such ammunition, anyway.

The Radio York commentator just mentioned Curtis Woodhouse in his local Harrogate Town FC round-up… I thought he’d fecked off to become a boxer?

“Rushden do not look like a team that were beaten easily last Saturday”, says Mr. Radio commentator.

Just a “handful” of RDFC supporters have made the 150 mile trip to York.

Rushden go close, but Farrell had handled before putting the ball in the net.

In other games, Kettering are 1-0 up against Oxford, while Crawley are leading FGR 1-0.

Tragedy strikes at Rockingham, as Kettering throw away their early lead. 1-1.🙂

Disaster! Kettering are now down to ten men!🙂

Curtis Woodhouse just scored for Harrogate.

Northampton are 2-0 down and on their way out of the CC.

93 Rushden fans are there. Great effort! A 300-mile round-trip on a Tuesday night.

The match finishes 0-0, with both teams probably feeling they could have gotten more from the game. Akurang’s chance at the death could have reqarded the 93 travelling fans in the best way possible while Rankine (!) should have won it for York had his goal not been (unfairly) ruled out.

Rushden SHOULD be happy with the result. Yes, we’re still goalless after this season’s 180 minutes of play, but with a point on the board, the draw will hopefully act as a springboard from which the Diamonds will leap to two consecutive games, over Eastbourne and H&Y (I can dream…)

It also appears to have been a definite improvement from the performence on Saturday, with Rushden dominating “for large periods”, and with a fair few chances to put it in the net. Still, I can’t help but feel that the moaners will have more than enough ammunition.

Roll on Saturday.

How did we play? Was a draw a fair result? Were the officials as bad as the oh-so-irritating Radio York commentator (can’t be)? Comment below.

I see we’re in the bottom four now, and still we haven’t scored. That’ll bring the crowds back. I can’t believe that we were wasting time to hold on to a point.Rubbish!

I think this is a rather fairer summary from the forum:

“It was an excellent all around team performance – with the changes JE made being fully justified. Apart from some late pressure, we were dominant – and although the Yorkshire types got agitated with the officials, I only saw them get one Offside decision totally wrong. The crowd were baying for handball after Osano was pushed into it, and Brodie was falling over more than Tommo – in fact Tommo had a chance to go down in the area, but stayed on his feet.

Those of you who didn’t go missed a really encouraging performance, and the likes of James Reid looked like he’d appreciated starting from the bench when he came on.”

As well as a couple of comments from the YCFC forum:

“Rushden were much better than I expected”

“R&D dominated in midfield they always had a free man to pass to”

“Rushden sussed us from the start.”

“R&D controlled the middle of the park”

“Rushden really should have won by 1 or possibly 2 goals.”

“[Rushden] looked well up for the challenge last night and had more urgency in their team throughout.”

You’re lucky to be able to get into the York forum – I’ve tried several times, only to be ignored. I even used proper usernames and everything!

Good performance last night. JE got tactics and team selection spot-on.
