2:55 Nearly KO. Odds are CUFC will out-number RDFC fans today, but it is due to the work of a small number of Rushden fans that the game will go ahead today, after helping move the frost covers early this morning. *Applause*.

Ditto.

Ditto.

Cambridge are going through a fairly awful period of away games at the moment, getting just 4 points from their last 8 games away from the Abbey Stadium.

3:00 Kick off. About 500 CUFC fans their, apparently, so maybe my previous speculation regarding their numbers was a tad optimistic… Some good noise being generated by both sets of fans. “R….U….S….H….D….E….N…” Great to hear the PDB in good voice.

3:18 In today’s other BSP game, Lewes are 1-0 up against Oxford. Ha!

3:21 Scrap that, it’s 1-1 now.

3:25 CU score from a penalty.

Cambridge score in front of a patch PDB.

Sam Smith silences the CU fans.

Half time, 1-1. Radio Diamonds is blaring out “The Kids Are Alright”… a wry salute to what must be the youngest Diamonds squad in years? Of today’s squad Robinson, Tomlin, Beecroft, Smith, Day, Broadbent, Hilliard, McGuinness and Cox are all twenty years old or younger.

Snow... dont call it off now, ref!

Snow... don't call it off now, ref!

Penalty claim not given after Sam Smith apparently blocked. Rushden on top 🙂

CU hits the post. Christ…

1-2.
