Battling “bore” sees Rushden stop the rot.

The Northampton Chronicle may have deemed the game a “bore”, but the scrappy away point was more than welcome to a side that had lost their last three games. A battling display from a team fighting for every ball, with Woody and Burgess putting in good performences.

A solid defence in awful conditions frustrated CU, who missed out on a chance to go top of the league. After the game Rushden remain in the top half, seven points off the play-offs, and nine points off top-spot, still held by Kettrin’ despite their defeat to Weymouth yesterday.

Total crap as usual from Mark Lea. OK no goals but a a very good contest with plenty of effort from the Diamonds including Woodhouse and Burge.
