Keith Cousins has released the most promosing statement to come out of NP for some time, vowing to continue his summer signing spree. Cousins, fresh after his double-coup of Daryl Clare and Lee Phillips, has announced that the club are in talks with “at least eight different players who are high profile for this division.” He went on to say that, already, two more offers have been made.
“I’m not another Max Griggs. But I’m prepared to do everything I can here. I’ve decided this year we are going to have a real go – a bit of a thrash at the league. I just can’t sit there and watch football like we had here last season.”
With Lee Power now at the club – and his inevitable list of helpful friends at the club’s disposal, too – Garry Hill looks set to enjoy the close season. According to Cousins, “Lee is going to be working closely with Garry to attract players. His expertise and knowledge will get us the best deals…”
One of the players looking likely to join the club is Bradley Wood-Garness. According This is Total Essex, the deal has gone to a tribunal, “with Rushden & Diamonds the favourites to sign him.”
