Rushden’s 2009-2010 campaign kicked off 45 minutes ago, in the green and pleasant land of Rothwell Town. Dazzler, our photographer at Cecil Street, is, as ever, supplying the photos.

The home of football - Cecil Street.
At half time, it would appear, the score is 3-0 to the Diamonds, with Cousins, Tomlin and (edited) Max Porter getting the goals. Yes, it is only a pre-season friendly, and, yes, it is only against Rothwell, but it is still nice to see Neil Cousins score. :)

"2-0 Tomlin curler top corner"

Half-time. 3-0 Rushden (?)
Half-time with Diamonds three goals to the good. Over-optimism-inducement, anyone?
Apparently new signing Max Porter got the third.

The second half kicks off

More match action from Cecil Street

Rushden’s first game of the season ends in a 3-1 victory – a good start, doubtless, with two of our strikers getting off the mark, and the lads getting a good first runout. Bring on Blackpool and the rest of Rushden’s opponenets at the Errea South West Challenge Cup. According to the Northants ET Tomo also missed a penalty, but if you are ever going to miss a spotkick, it might as well be against Rothwell in early-July.

Full-time.

Well done Edinburgh then, could be good signing. Does anyone know if there were many RDFC fans at the game? Attendence in total was apparently 250
